"I have written to you who are God’s children because you know the Father."

(1 John 2:14)

This verse captures the heart of our vision for the Sunday School ministry at The River.

Our greatest hope is that the children in our care come to truly know the Father —not just know about Him, but develop a deep, personal relationship with Him.

We believe that God desires to know each child intimately, and we are committed to helping them experience His love in a way that transforms their lives. Just as a river flows with life-giving water, our vision is for the Spirit of God to move in and through these young hearts, nurturing them and drawing them ever closer to Him. We want each child to understand who they are in God’s grand design—to know their identity in Christ as dearly loved, chosen, and purpose-filled.

It’s more than just teaching Bible stories; it’s about helping them discover that they are part of something eternal, that they have a place in God’s story. Our image is that of living water flowing freely—water that refreshes, revives, and eventually joins the sea, symbolizing a life surrendered to God and connected to the greater body of Christ.

We long to see our children worshipping God freely, using all their talents, creativity, and energy to bring Him glory. Whether through song, art, words, or action, every child has something unique to offer, and we want them to see that their gifts are valuable and vital to the Kingdom.

At The River, Sunday School is not just a program—it’s a journey of discovering the Father, growing in faith, and becoming who God made each child to be.

Through teaching, worship, and community, we pray that every child will come to know the Father, walk confidently in their identity in Christ, and overflow with praise as part of the living river of God’s love.
